About the Role

As a Heart Health Promoter, you’ll play a key role in promoting heart health within your community. Working closely with local health providers, community organisations, and passionate Heart Foundation colleagues, you’ll have the chance to make a tangible difference in the lives of New Zealanders.

We’re looking for someone who is confident, energetic, and an excellent communicator. If you love connecting with people and supporting your community, this could be the role for you.

While experience in health promotion is an advantage, what matters most is your ability to create meaningful activities and events that spark heart health conversations. We value candidates with a background working with diverse communities, an understanding of cultural factors, and the ability to foster engagement across different groups.

Your Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate community initiatives and events to support people living with heart disease and their whānau.
  • Educate and raise awareness about heart conditions in various community settings, often in partnership with other health providers.
  • Collaborate with our team to positively impact heart health across Aotearoa.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confidence working with people from diverse backgrounds and communities.
  • An understanding of cultural and community factors influencing health outcomes.
  • Experience in health, social science, or health promotion (desirable).
  • A clean, full driver’s licence.
  • Flexibility to attend community events outside of regular business hours, including occasional evenings and weekends.
