❤️ About Us

Looking for a role where you can truly make a difference? At the Heart Foundation, we’re a passionate team driven by one purpose: to stop all people in New Zealand dying prematurely from heart disease and enable those with heart disease to live full lives.

Guided by our vision — hearts fit for life, for this generation and the next — we deliver nationwide programmes in prevention, nutrition, care, and support, while raising vital funds for life-saving heart research. Together, we’re improving heart health and wellbeing across Aotearoa.

You’ll write and edit content, support media engagement, advise teams, and contribute to campaigns – all while helping to keep our messaging aligned and engaging across every channel. This varied role offers the chance to collaborate widely, build strong relationships, and make a real impact through thoughtful communication.

  • Create clear, consistent comms for internal and external audiences.
  • Provide writing, editing, and communications advice across a range of projects and initiatives.
  • Support media activity, including social media community management, media monitoring, and identifying story opportunities.
  • Collaborate with teams across the Heart Foundation to implement communications plans and ensure consistent messaging.

  • Extra paid day off each year for Heart Foundation Day
  • 5 weeks’ annual leave (pro-rata) after 2 years
  • Sick leave from day one
  • Wellbeing platform + discounted health insurance
